The Gaussmeter is a portable, calibrated residual field and polarity indicator, with leather sheath, used to measure residual magnetism remaining in the tested workpieces after magnetization or to verify demagnetization. Available in various scale ranges: 5-0-5; 10-0-10; 20-0-20 and 50-0-50.

Flexible Laminated Strips are used to indicate the presence and the intensity of the magnetic field during magnetic particle inspection. The strips are to be positioned on the tested surface. The indications produced on the strips give the inspector a general idea of the field strength in that specific area. Supplied in a pack of five strips.

The Reference Block Type 2 is used to evaluate the sensitivity of magnetic ink. It consists of 1 steel bar and two permanent magnets on either end. The scale is calibrated such that the +4 mark represents a magnetic field with a strength of +100 A/m and the -4 mark represents -100 A/m. Indication lengths give a measure of magnetic ink performance. Longer indications mean good performance (that of a fresh bath), and they become shorter as the solution performance deteriorates with use.

The AS 5282 type ring sample is magnetic test method accessory with pre-drilled holes at increasing depth starting from the edge, designed to replicate surface discontinuities. The tool is used to verify the penetrating capacity of the magnetic field based on the type and intensity of the current, as well as on the type of the magnetic particles used. The Berthold Test is used to determine the magnetising efficiency. The central piece is cut into quadrants to provide indications at 0 and 90 degrees. It is composed of a circular central part in ferromagnetic material in the shape of a cone, with the cuts perpendicular to each other. This cylinder-shaped part is inserted on the metallic base, so that it can be rotated around its axis in order to modify the distance between the surface and the plate.

A pie gauge is a device used to measure magnetic field direction. It is an octagonal flat plate composed of eight low- carbon steel sheets, similar to pieces of pie. The octagonal flat plate is copper coated from the back side to hide the joint lines. The device has to be placed on the tested piece during the magnetic powder application and magnetizing. With an adequate magnetic field, the indications perpendicular to the magnetic flux lines on the various sectors of the octagonal plate will appear.

The Type 2000 Magnetic Stripe Card is a tool used for instantly evaluation of the performance of the wet fluorescent magnetic particle materials. The stripe on each card contains a standardized pattern of magnetic lines across the stripe’s length. Particles are attracted to these lines forming visual indications.
